May is the kick off to another fishing season in Campbell River! Reports from outer islands & mainland inlets, Twin Islands, Louis Channel, has really picked up with some excellent days. Little further south Bates Beach, Sentry Shoals has produced some nice fish over the past couple weeks. For those wanting to stay closer to home the lighthouse/hump on the ebb with long drifts keeping the gear just off the bottom. The fish are in the 10 – 20 lb range 5” Tomic plugs & 5/6” Spoons also working very well.
Despite the crazy weather being a big challenge this past week there really has not been much for boat activity to get a good feel for things. The fishing overall has been pretty good with some days and tides better than others; fish are in the 10 – 15lb range with a few close to twenty pounds.
Happy New Year Everyone!! Despite the weather being a challenge the fishing overall been pretty good the last couple weeks with some really nice winter fish in the 10 – 15lb range with a few close to twenty pounds.
