With current chinook regulations many locals are running towards the mainland inlets across from Campbell River where retention is open. We got out on the May long weekend and had great time!
Good numbers of feeder Chinook are being caught with some nice sized mature fish being boated. It’s a full day on the water to these remote fishing locations and well worth the trip. Even though it’s a long time travelling (1 1/2 hours) the scenery is absolutely stunning with snow capped mountains, steep fjords and waterfalls!

Commercial prawn fishing is now open although there is still some decent sport catches out there if you get a good set between the commercial strings.
